Help Wanted: Volunteer Opportunities

CCA counts on dedicated volunteers to succeed. Many thanks to all who volunteer and take on leadership positions. In recent months people have asked what they can do to help. One answer is that in addition to people who lead activities, we are seeking backups who are familiar with what the leads do and can step in when needed. We are hoping to avoid a situation in which someone in a leadership position cannot carry out their responsibilities without a backup. Here are several opportunities to help in leadership or backup capacities:

Lead for Advertising: We are looking for someone to take the lead in soliciting and managing financial sponsors. Our current Advertising Lead created a process and can orient you to it. Strong communication skills and ability to follow up are required; experience in advertising is helpful but not required. Most of this work will be done in the winter and spring as we solicit Roster advertisers and race sponsors.

Assistant Webmaster: The assistant webmaster needs to have computer experience but not necessarily website experience. Desktop publishing, database, or programming experience is very helpful. The ability to read the administrator's manual and figure things out is the most important requirement. For training purposes, portions of the website will be given to the Assistant Webmaster to maintain. The Webmaster can provide instruction via Zoom sessions as needed. The goal is to have the Assistant Webmaster be capable of maintaining the entire site should the Webmaster become unavailable or retire. Time commitments will vary.

Financial Services Oversight: CCA has an investment account that a broker at Wells Fargo manages based on oversight from a three-person CCA committee, which advises the Board regarding the account. We could use an individual for this committee who has knowledge of investing and investment opportunities for nonprofit organizations to. Time commitment will involve quarterly or semiannual committee meetings.

Audit Lead and Assistant: CCA annually audits its financial records. We are seeking one or two people to review these records. A volunteer for this should have experience with finances but need not be an accountant. This task should take about 15 hours over one month.
