Lower Yough Clinic with Jordan Taylor

CCA, in collaboration with Calleva and Paddlesport Institute has commissioned kayak instructor, Jordan Taylor, to do a Lower Yough clinic for newbies on Friday, July 12th. This is an all-day clinic for CCA kayakers with an appropriate level of proficiency who are ready to run the Lower Yough -- a Class 3 river -- for the first time. Registration is required and limited to eight CCA members. The cost is $75 dollars. The course includes river-running safety checks, warm ups, land scouts of some of the bigger rapids and more. Additional details, logistics and waivers will be shared to those registered for the clinic.
To prepare for the clinic, ACA-certified Instructors Gary Steinberg and Rolo Arrieta will offer an optional free 5-hour whitewater skills practice on the Potomac on Saturday, June 22nd. We'll review key whitewater strokes, eddy catching, ferrying and peel-outs, river safety basics as well as on-the-water communication, teamwork and rolling practice in fast-moving water.
