Weekender Paddle: Lower Yough
About this event
Hello everyone, join Eric Lloyd and Ryan Morrow on Saturday for a fun day on the lower Yough running clean lines or ramping up for whatever the group is comfortable with. We will meet at the Ohiopyle Lower Yough put-in to set shuttle at 10:30am, check gear, talk safety and get ready for the run.
If you are hard-boat kayaking a good roll is necessary. Helmet and PFD are required, depending on your setup, spray skirt, cold-water gear, paddle and endless enthusiasm are as well.
For those that haven’t run the Lower Yough before, we will discuss the different lines before running each rapid and do our best to get everyone down safely. We will stop at Swimmers rapid for some surfing and food, pack a lunch, it’s a good spot to refuel before we finish the run.
I will be camping at Ohiopyle state park for anyone interested in heading up the night before.
