Sunday Paddle - George Washington Canal

For this week’s trip we will return yet again to the Class II George Washington Canal. We will meet at 9:00 at the Pennyfield Lock parking lot (12100 Pennyfield Lock Rd) to set shuttle and then proceed to Riley’s Lock for the put-in. As always, please let the trip coordinator (Wayne McDaniel, macinmd1@gmail.com, 443 542 8779) know if you will be joining.

The weather forecast is for a high near 80 with a chance of a thunderstorm.The forecast river level is 3.2’ on the Little Falls gauge, a modrate level for this section of river.

PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator in advance.
