Jordon Woods-Wahl in an open C-1 showed up at Violettes after Mikey Baummer transferred the trip to me. Jordon was a first timer and he picked a magical night to make this run.
The storms were over; the sky had cleared. Because of the temperature drop, the river and the Canal were heavy with mist.
As we crossed the river, there was not one but two eagles surveying their terrain from the top of a dead sycamore.
The Canal was shrouded in mystery as the sun's rays slanted through the mist. We both regretted to see it end.
