Sad to report the swinging tree below the Surfing Ledge has fallen. It has been there all my life. Although I never took the plunge, I watched many of the younger set take advantage. It will be missed.

We paddled the entrance to the lower Patowmack Canal through the rock walls and reentered the river through a small river left passage. It had small wood in it but was doable.

Debris Rapid has opened up some. The river left channel against the mud bank was doable. The main chute was also runnable but look carefully as the water drops. Best is someone is down below scouting and pointing out the line, just to make sure.

We enjoyed two eagles nests! Although we saw flying birds, the nests' occupants did not reveal themselves.

After attaining up one of the smaller fingers, the take out four hours later was very appreciated.
