David Cottingham will lead a trip on the Potomac from Great Falls Park to Sycamore Island, the course for the CCA 71st Annual Downriver Race. One of the purposes of this trip is to show people interested in the Downriver Race the course prior to the race itself. We will meet in the parking lot at (or across from) the old Sycamore Island Store on MacArthur Blvd at the intersection of MacArthur and Walhonding Road at 11 am on Sunday, May 3. We will transfer boats and drive to Great Falls (MD) Park. We will launch from Sandy Beach, paddle through Mather Gorge, and to Sycamore Island, about 7 miles.
