About this event
On Wednesday evening we will paddle a run from Anglers to Lock 10 (Yes, I said Lock 10 – not Carder Rock). I think we are at a point now where the sun is setting well after 8PM, which should give us enough daylight to make it down to the Lock 10 takeout. This run will give us a chance to play in the Offutt waves (depending on the water level), yellow falls, and the added bonus of Stubblefield Falls (Woo Hoo!). This is a great chance to surf, practice attaining, and work on those combat rolls. Or just enjoy a trip down the river, whatever floats your boat (so to speak).
We’ll meet in the Lock 10 parking lot at 6:00PM where we can work out the shuttles up to Old Anglers Inn.
PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator in advance. And finally, be prepared for the predicted temperature for that time of day and bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
If you are interested in joining us, please contact Dean Hawes at dean@haweslink.net, especially if this is your first time on this run. Or, you can register on the CCA webpage. Last minute paddlers are welcome as well, but please arrive at the meeting spot by 6:00 PM. I will send out a status email around lunch time on Wednesday to those who notify me they are going.
