Sunday Paddle - George Washington Canal
About this event
For this week’s trip we will return to the Class II George Washington Canal. We will meet at 10:00 at the Pennyfield Lock parking lot (12100 Pennyfield Lock Rd) to set shuttle and then proceed to Riley’s Lock for the put-in. As always, please let the trip coordinator (Wayne McDaniel, macinmd1@gmail.com, 443 542 8779) know if you will be joining.
The weather forecast is near ideal with a high aound 70 with a 0% (sic) chance of rain.The forecast river level is 3.0’ on the Little Falls gauge, a moderately low level for this section of river. .
PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator in advance.
