Imagine a day in early March when the temperatures are in the upper 70s and the level in Hopeville Canyon is a sweet 625 cfs. We had five paddlers on that day: Dave (OC1), Mark, Peter and Ned (K1s) and Virginia (inflatable). We cruised down without incident, leaving everyone’s hair (what is left of it) dry, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and entertaining raids, putting on at 12:30 and taking off at 3:00. This was our opening day for Thursday Paddles, albeit on a lovely Wednesday, and it is my hope that we return to this wonderful river at least once more this year.
