Despite the low river level (2.66’ on the Little Falls gauge), nine paddlers enjoyed a beautiful fall day on the George Washington Canal. We were Alf C, Andrew T, Barb B, Bob H, Chris K (paddling with the CCA for the first time), Dmitri D, Mikey B, Sergei G and Wayne McD. Several paddlers virtuously practiced rolling, usually successfully. No swims to report but there were a few bow rescues. Dmitri was able to extract the pole that had created a safety hazard last week on river right in 30 Eddy Rapid. Turtle count on the C&O was six. The Canal was full again.
