Shenandoah B2B section at 3.2 ft - Thursday paddle
Hildy Ferraiolo

Fifteen paddlers were on the Shenandoah today to paddle the bridge-to-bridge section (B2B). We were Sarah K, Gary S, Cotton, Randy S, Fred D, Eliza C, Lisa L, Jenny T, Ken C, Bruce C, Mark B, and me in kayaks. Ginny Q, Gary Q and Kim B in OC1s.

HFAC allowed 4 cars at the takeout. Their fee is now is $12 per car at the takeout. We set shuttle and were on the water by NLT 10:30 am. Because B2B is a relative short stretch, we took our time and practiced ferrying and surfing extensively in addition to chatting and catching up with each other. The river level was 3.2 ft with a nice flow. We omitted the excessive heat by paddling early. All were out of the water by 1 pm. Had a swimmer or two but we made quick work on emptying boats and re-entering boats. Overall a fantastic day on the water.
