Trip Reports

A-L10 - 26 June - Thurs Paddlers - LF 3.96'
Tim Tilson

Today’s Anglers to Lock 10 trip went well. The Little Falls gauge was 3.96’. In K1s we had Logan H, Ken J and Peter R, In OC1s we had recently retired and now joining the Ths paddlers Mark Wray and Yours Truly. Weather was hot but Gatorade for some and roll practice for others helped to keep everyone cool. No carnage and everyone paddled elegantly. We saw Calleva rafts above Yellow Falls. At Yellow Falls itself, there was a Calleva class of kayakers. They spent some time scouting it. Just as we left, they ran it. No carnage. All those kids were paddling hard. Barb Brown would have been pleased.

As we approached the take-out Mark Wray came upon an adult bald eagle who flew about 20 ft off the water, past us. Simply magnificent.

It was deemed too hot to eat al fresco at Fish Tacos so everyone just went their separate ways. AN AMENDMENT BY ALF
