Goose Creek at 577 cfs - 6/19/2025
Pamela White

In attendance for another lovely paddle down Goose Creek were: Peter, Ginny, Bob, Lynne, Kathleen, Hendrik, Joey and his brother, and co-coordinators, Tim and Pam. Even at this reduced flow there was surfing to be had. With perhaps the best of it being at the mill drop after going under Riverside Parkway.

Everyone ran Golf Course with ease. Many carried back up to run it a second time. With Ginny and Peter's help, Pam discovered a slot between a large boulder and a nasty hole on river right. When you hit the slot it's a nice ride down Golf Course on river right instead of the rock dodging on the left. The white house river right at Golf Course is now yet another Data Center. So the Golf Course is gone and so is the house!!!

Edward’s Ferry was at 11 ft and so the creek was backed up some at the takeout. Though there was a small rapid at the top of Clapham, the meat of the rapid was washed out yet again by backflow from the Potomac.

Wildlife report: Hendrik and Tim saw three young deer and a box turtle. Also spotted was a racoon climbing into his nest in the top of a tree after Golf Course Rapid, and a bald eagle before going under the O&D Trail.
