Today's Sunday Paddle, led by Rich Conde, had 3 canoeists and 9 kayakers, paddled as a single group, with no mishaps. Most importantly, we found the months-long log-jam in the GWC was dissipated, with a couple of the logs lodged in the next rapid, but easily avoided. After playing in Diagonal, we took the right (Jacuzzi) channel for a change, found minimal wood in 30-Eddy Rapid, and no turtles but the last persimmons on the low-hanging trees as we returned up the C&O Canal. We were: OC-1s: Rich, Alan Gale, Tim Tilson. Kayaks: John Snitzer, Dmitry Didenkoff, Wayne McDaniel, Jackie Hoglund, Toni Bickart, Barb Brown, Lisa Laden, Diane Hobbs, and Alf Cooley.
