The force was in balance today for the Little Falls trip with the Fletcher’s Take Out option. The level was 2.73 or thereabouts. In K1s we had Mickey B, Barb B, Alf C and Wayne M. In OC1 we had Gary Q, Ginny Q Hendrik V and your faithful scribe. We also had two outliers: Howard M aboard his SUP and Ed Gertler in a rubber kayak. We put on around 10:45 and soon caught up with the earlier group. We got to Little Falls first and ran it w/o any carnage. Unfortunately afterwards we faced a steady head wind and incoming tide on the final mile to Fletchers. Thanks to folks being able to carry 2 or more boats, we didn’t have to run much of a shuttle - just load up and drive off. Garry and Ginny get the “Courtney Caldwell” award for carrying the 4 boats in their truck. Back at Lock 6 we picked up Jenny Thomas and invited her to join us at Fish Tacos for a late luncheon al fresco. Interestingly when you get there at 2:00 pm there is plenty of parking. On such a beautiful day both the Howard Co and Cabin John Rescue Squads were out training. A heron or two was the only wildlife count. On balance a fine late summer day.
