Sunday Paddle - Seneca Breaks
This Sunday's paddle will be Seneca Breaks. We will meet at 8:30 am at the Viollete's Lock Parking Lot. Please be prompt. Parking goes to the early bird. The weather is projected to be in the mid 80s. Chance of rain in the morning is 10% rising to 24% by mid afternoon. The river is projected to be 3.6.
This is a Class I-II trip. Safety gear is required for all participants to include at a minimum: personal floatation device and helmet. Boats should have floatation as well. Folks new to the trip should read CCA's Covid Tips on this Trip's Tab under Trip guidelines and the American Whitewater's Safety code Handbook pages 18-25 or at American white Water Safety code. If the groups gets too large we will most likely break into smaller groups.
We will NOT paddle the GW Canal ( also called the By Pass Canal). Recent rains have washed too many logs , root balls and other debris into the rapids and made them unsafe. Instead we will run down the middle of the river through the rocks which are Seneca Breaks before returning via the C&O canal.
