Paddlers: Larry L, Ross D, Mark B, Jim K, and Dana V. Two canoes, two kayaks and one ducky. Weather was mid 70s and sunny. Water was chilly. Ross, Larry, and Mark met at Meyersville at 8:00am and drove up to Hollsopple and we were there by 10:30am. We met Dana coming from Deep Creek Lake and Jim coming from Ohiopyle. We put on the river at noon and were off the river by 3:30pm. There were paddlers in the parking lot that put on before we set shuttle but by the time we put on, we had the river to ourselves. We did not see any paddlers on the river until almost the end of the trip when we portaged around the pipeline/dam and another group caught up to us. All agreed that the Stony is a beautiful fun river. Mark claimed to have paddled the Stony before but did not remember any part of the river - given that the river is very memorable - we are wondering if Mark paddled a different section or a different river altogether.
