Marsh Creek - 2/27/2021
Mark Brenneman

Larry Lempert and I caught Marsh Creek (PA) at an excellent level on Saturday 2/27. We put on around noon with the level at the Bridgeport gauge at 922 cfs several miles downstream on the Monocacy. It was at 1,030 cfs when we took off around 1:30. Temps were in the mid 40s. The Class II and III rapids in the middle of this short run offered plenty of opportunities to catch eddies and to choose your route. After the first two Class III rapids you come to a section split by a few small islands. The best route at this time is to go right. The left route looks intriguing but is blocked by downed trees and branches.

This is an excellent winter time run as it is well protected against the wind and with easy access to the stream at both ends. A short run, but a sweet one.
