With the weather is getting a bit cooler, nine paddlers made it out to Violettes Lock for an uneventful Loop over to and down the GW Canal. Old timers were TL Peter Ryan, Bill Carr, Wayne McD, Tim T, Jophn Snitzer and Alf, and we were joined by Mike x (OC), Ken Wardlaw and son Patrick (K1s). Good surfing at this level at Surfing Ledge, and no difficulty avoiding the blockage below Jacuzzi. A couple of minor logs have completely blocked it, so the manoeuver by Knipling and grandson depicted on the CCA homepage is no longer possible. C&O Canal is well watered, so no problem in paddling over the downed tree in the Canal at Blockhouse Point. - 11 turtles counted.
