Mike Baummer also joined the “minions”. River was 3’6” and rising. Serious note, there is massive new wood in Diagonal. It is totally changed. Careful paddling will get you through, but we can anticipate some exciting stories from others. Mike talked us into taking the “right” channel convincing us that of course the rocky river right channel would be open. Well…..it wasn’t. Mike and Kathleen hopped out of their boats to remove whatever wood they could. Mike, Jackie and Barb scraped and gorilla walked down without too much damage to boats and egos. Hendrik and Kathleen ended up carrying. It is worth noting that the river left line against the island is choked with wood at the top. It looks tempting from the top but paddling up from the bottom shows it is not feasible.
