14 paddlers (John & Kerrie, Barb, Kathleen, Eric, Miki, Marty & Netta, four Komlosh friends, and Wayne&Ellen) traveled to Mallows Bay of the Potomac for a flatwater tour of the "Ghost Fleet", WWI era ships that were purposefully sunk here when they became surplus with the war's conclusion. Mindful of COVID-19 guidelines we divided into groups. I believe this was the first trip to the site for all but Barb and Kathleen. We observed a large osprey nest on the bow of the Accomac, complete with mama osprey and two chicks. Weather was sunny and warm, with a pleasant breeze on the water.
