There were 10 of us on the trip: K1: Lisa L, Robin W, Tina S, Dean H, Greg L, Barb B, and Miki K. Rich C and Alan G were in OC1, and Logan H was in a one person pack raft (with a skirt).
This most noteworthy aspect of the trip was one thing that was not there; the forecast for strong winds was wrong. I had been on the same trip the previous weekend (with a similar forecast) and the first crossing was brutal, with 1 to 1 1/2 foot white capped waves. But as we entered the Potomac from the inlet we were delighted to find relatively calm waters with only light winds.
We informally split up into 2 groups - one group of less experienced paddlers with Barb for an impromptu kayak clinic, with the rest of going a bit faster and waiting for the "clinic" group to catch up once in a while.
